Where in the World Is Mr. Hunter? The answer (Rope Bridge edition)

Where was Mr. Hunter when he encountered this rope bridge?

He was exploring the grounds while he vacationed at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, home to water slides, a lively lazy river, expensive restaurants, heat, humidity... and a little something else that shall be revealed later on Mr. Hunter's blog.

Those are the famed Royal Towers in the background,
and a lagoon filled with rays in the foreground.

More to come on Mr. Hunter's visit to the Bahamas!

Where was Mr. Hunter as he prepared to cross this rope bridge?

The Thames and the Millennium Bridge

Mr. Hunter stopped while to pose for some photos while he was crossing the Millennium Bridge.

With the Thames and the City of London in the background.

The Thames Festival was going on in front of the Tate,
so when we first headed across the river, the
Millennium Bridge was so crowded.

Amy Winehouse's protege, Dionne Bromfield, was performing at the festival.

Shelburne Falls

Mr. Hunter has been concerned to read news of the floods caused by Hurricane Irene, including floods that affected a favorite spot of his: Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, home of the Bridge of Flowers and the glacial potholes.

Mr. Hunter admires the glacial potholes
in quieter times on the Deerfield River.

Video of the flooding where the glacial potholes are usually visible:

What the glacial potholes usually look like.

This next video shows the Ann Brauer quilt studio being swept down the Deerfield River.  Sheesh.

Another view of the Bridge of Flowers, from September 2008.

And this is what you could see of the Bridge of Flowers after Hurricane Irene came through:

Mr. Hunter loves the Bridge of Flowers.

we are thinking of you!

Introducing Ghetto Mr. Hunter

Teresa was getting ready to leave on a business trip to Singapore and Japan, and she asked me about taking a Flat Mr. Hunter along.  The only problem was that she was leaving the next day, and I wasn't in the office to provide her with an official Flat Mr. H.

Our solution: I emailed Teresa the photo from which I made the original Flat Mr. Hunter, and she printed it out on a color printer, and then "laminated" him with some clear packing tape.  She dubbed this makeshift fellow "Ghetto Mr. Hunter."  Mr. Hunter was pleased about this new representative of the Hunter clan; he also appreciated how Ghetto Mr. Hunter's rectangular shape provided a slight variation on the usual Mr. Hunter look.

Here's Ghetto Mr. H's debut photograph.
He's enjoying some refreshments at a cafe in Singapore's Arab Quarter while Teresa reads up on local tropical fruit.

The Ponte Vecchio

Mr. Hunter has such fond memories of Florence.
Here he is posing in front of the Ponte Vecchio.

The Oltarno district of Florence is on the opposite side of the river here.
If you're lucky enough to find yourself near the Ponte Vecchio someday, make sure to visit Caffe delle Carrozze's gelateria, which is located quite close to the Ponte Vecchio on the Signoria side of the river.

Our favorite gelato combination: amarena and coconut.

Many is the time that I've longed to be standing in this same spot again and indulging in this gelato.
